Use a ph neutral soap diluted in hot water to mop the floors. Sweep or dry mop the floor to remove surface dust and dirt. Clean marble tiles at least once a week using either a specially formulated marble cleanser or a mild non acid household cleaner. The best mop for marble floors is a dust mop. When cleaning marble be sure to stay away from harsh chemicals like bleach ammonia hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. When you do need to clean it look for a neutral ph cleanser don t just spray your usual bathroom cleaner. If you re using the dish soap and water solution to clean marble tile on countertops you can apply it directly from the spray bottle. Then dry the marble with a soft rag rather than allowing it to air dry. When it comes time to wet mop marble tile floors or clean a marble shower surround make sure you use a mild soap that is ph neutral.

The action of a vacuum cleaner may be too much for the marble and pushing dirt around with a broom has the potential to create scratches too. Just mix with water mop and go to clean marble floors without streaks.
