This product is 6mm thick and is the strongest and lightest cement board on the market holding 200kg m as opposed to 32kg m for plasterboard.

Boards measure 1200 x 800 x 6mm. If you want to use 6mm hardi you really need to have adhesive behind it and have it screwed into the substrate to get it flat. No more ply when fixed properly will hold the largest tiles approximately 65kg p tile giant 6mm no more ply boards 600x1200 tile giant. Available in various thicknesses 6mm 10mm 12 5mm 20mm 30mm and 50mm these boards are sized at 1 200mm x 600mm and cover an area of 0 72m.

It is ideal for floors which my be susceptible to deflection or lateral movement such as expansion and contraction. You will find the raw boards are usually far from flat. As a tiling backerboard hardiebacker does not require any primer and can be tiled onto directly after installation. Just like hardiebacker 12 mm it has excellent adhesive properties ensuring that whatever ceramic or stone tile you use it will hold strong with applied weights of up to 100 kg m.
